September 25th, 2009 by Rexx

Divided in a recipe means the same ingredient, but it’s going to be used at different times and/or different purposes…..Good question, though!!!

A Simple Recipe To Make A Coffee Cake?

September 25th, 2009 by Rexx

This is my Mother -In Law’s recipe for amazing sour cream coffee cake.
Sour Cream Coffee Cake
1 cup butter
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
1 sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
Topping
1 cup finely chopped nuts
2 Tbs sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350°
Grease a bundt pan well and flour.
Place 1/3 of topping mix in bottom of pan.
Place half of batter in pan
place remaining topping and top with remaining batter.
Bake at 350° for 45 Minutes
If you are in a hurry and want to cheat, krusteaz brand cinnamon crumb cake is fantastic. I make the recipe on the box but I add a 1/3 cup of sour cream to the batter. It tastes just like homemade and no one knows that it is from a mix.
With either one of these you can’t go wrong.

Can I Remove The Coffee Ingredient For The Cake?

September 24th, 2009 by Rexx

I’m going to make a cake soon, but the recipe says “1 cup of strong brewed coffee” I never liked the chocolate/coffee taste, so can I just not put the coffee in? Will that affect the cake in any way? If I can’t remove it, what can I use for a substitute?
