A Recipe For A Coffee Flavored, With Chocolate Bits, Coffee Cake, Please.?
It was hard to find a coffee cake that incorporated the coffee and the chocolate bits. This is my idea. The chocolate chip coffee cake doesn’t have coffee. Mix a tablespoon of instant coffee granules with the vanilla. Will give the coffee cake just a hint of coffee flavor. I did this recently with a cookie recipe I made for Father’s Day and I believe these were the best cookies I have ever made. My Father along with everyone else who tried them agreed. Once the granuales are mixed with the vanilla, let them sit for a few minutes. The vanilla will turn into a sort of thin paste. Also, this won’t change the texture of the cake whatsoever. Just make it better. Follow up with the coffee icing if you wish. Try this tip. If you love coffee and chocolate like I do, you will love this recipe. My best recipes are those where I had to improvise a bit.http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Chocolate-C…
COFFEE ICING
Combine icing sugar and butter in a small heatproof bowl.
Stir in enough coffee to make a smooth paste.
Place over a saucepan of simmering water and gently heat, stirring for 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is spreadable.
Spread over the cooled cake with a spatula.
Sprinkle with pecans.
