I’ve used a lil strong coffee to melt chocolate.
Have you used coffee in recipes? Wanna share?
What about the coffee grinds? Have you used them in your garden or something? Please share.

Left over coffee is great for pot roast! Pour about 1 cup coffee over the roast in the pan, add you seasonings; I use salt, pepper, garlic and bay leaf; then cover and cook. Once the roast is done use the drippings, minus the bay leaf, and some cornstarch mixed in water to make a wonderful gravy. It’s absolutely delicious!

This is such an interesting question to me because my husband drives me absolutely crazy with his nasty coffee grounds everywhere! I have him throw them out the kitchen door onto the ground around an azalea bush. The acid-loving plants appreciate it.(I do still have to go out and collect all the coffee filters periodically!lol) Also I pour the leftover coffee directly into my potted roses…it induces blooms at all times of the year!

Starting in the early spring time, I’ll save coffee grinds and egg shells to add to the garden when we till it up. I just put it in an old coffee can till I’m ready to use it. And when the garden is planted I add the mix around the plants as well.

i once heard that if you sprinkle the used grinds around the entrances to the home, they’re supposed to repel insects, roaches etc. don’t know if it works…

My husband smokes. We use the grinds in his ashtrays. They don’t smell bad that way.

If you mix the grounds with some oil, it makes a great exfoliater for your body. The oil moisturizes and the caffeine tightens the skin. Dont use it on your face though.

You can use coffee in recipes for brownies. I will use regular brownie mix and instead of water I add coffee. I also add some semisweet chocolate chips. It is so good!
You can use the grounds for your plants. In fact, starbucks gives away used grounds for the purpose of use in gardens.

Cold coffee actually makes a great brown gravy for red meat. Next time you cook a roast, pour cold coffe instead of water over the roast and the veggies….it will amaze you!

Yes, actually the grounds are good for outdoor plants of any kind so just dump them around your plant and cover with mulch or something if you don’t like to look at the coffee grounds.

Hello, Guess it’s not actually a new answer, when I got here I saw a similar one. But yes, my grandmother would always go outside and dump them in her plants and flower beds. (Inside plants too, if they don’t keep you awake at night LOL!) She said it makes for good fertilizer.

Some people say that if u put it in your garden that it burn the roots of the plant and they wont grow.

i use my leftover coffee to make iced cappucinos. in a blender, just blend chocolate ice cream and the coffee…so good!
