Anyone Want To Help Out With A Rice Recipe?

February 8th, 2010 by Rexx

I’m trying to put together a rice recipe or two, but I just can’t seem to wrap my head around what goes where.
I’m thinking of the ingredients:
Rice (of course), brown preferably
coffee
coconut milk
curry
leek and/or fennel
eggs
peas
soy sauce
Anyone care to help? Thanks. (=

You could do a fried rice:
Make the rice as you normally would, but add the coconut milk, curry and chopped leek (I don’t think that the fennel would go well with the curry, I know that fennel seed is a component OF curry, but the flavor of fennel will be overwhelming in the dish).
In a small skillet, scramble the eggs to the “dry stage”…….cool, chop and set aside.
Once the rice is made and COOLED, refrigerate for about an hour (cold rice makes the best fried rice)
Fry with the prepared rice, add the eggs and the peas and baby shrimp (if already cooked) just at the end, just to heat through……….Serve with soy sauce, if desired.
Now, the coffee, I can’t see where this would come in to the picture……..This actually sounds like something I’d like to make, as I’m on this TOTAL Thai kick lately…………… ;) ) Hope this helps……..
