1 cup all- purpose flour
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped pecans(optional)
1/2 granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup milk
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup extra flour
Preheat your oven to 325 F.
Combine the flour, brown sugar, softened butter, pecans, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl. Mix until it has a sandy texture.
In a large bowl, cream 1 cup butter, light brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy
In another bowl combine four, baking powder and salt. Add this mixture to the fluffy mixture stirring in a little at a time. Add mild and mix until consistent
Pour the batter into a 9×13 inch baking pan that has been buttered and dusted with flour.
Sprinkle the sandy over the batter. Make sure it is covers the top of the batter
Bake the cake for 50 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn light brown. Cool and serve.
