Coffee Frosting?
January 5th, 2010 by Rexx
Okay, over christmas, I made a cake with a homemade frosting. Now, I can’t find the recipe and I can’t remember what was in it. It had only 3 ingredients, I think. It called for coffee, heavy whipping cream, and something else, but I can’t remember what it was. Does anyone know what it might be?

Coffee Frosting
* 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
* 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
* 3 Tbsp fine sugar
1. Whip cream until stiff peaks form.
2. Add coffee and sugar, whisk until just combined.
3. Use immediately.

Coffee Butter Frosting Recipe
This coffee butter frosting goes with Spiced Coffee Sponge Cake, but feel free to use it with any other cake.
* 1/2 cup brewed hot 100% Colombian Coffee concentrate (1 cup ground coffee to 8 ounces cold water)
* 1/3 cup sugar
* Pinch salt
* 3 egg yolks
* 1 cup softened butter
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine coffee, sugar, salt and egg yolks in bowl, beat by hand over simmering water until thickened. Beat by machine until cold. Beat in butter 1 tablespoon at a time, then beat in vanilla until thick enough to spread

sugar … If it was a whipped frosting, you probably beat the cream with instant coffee and regular granulated sugar, until it was stiff peaks…. Otherwise, you may have beat the unwhipped cream, with some coffee and alot of powdered sugar to make a creamy, thicker frosting……
