		<description>Use espresso and not drip coffee. 
Pour the espresso over ice cubes and then add your milk. This keeps the hot coffee from touching your milk.
Then add your whipped cream (I like ReddyWhip), flavors, caramel drizzle etc..
Drip coffee is already too diluted to make a good iced coffee.
Another way to make COLD coffee is to put your normal drip coffee grounds and water together in a jug and set it in the refrigerator overnight. This is great for those who cannot tolerate the acid in coffee and give a very different taste.</description>

- filtered water
- ice
- good coffee
- half n half
- sweetner/sugar/simple syrup
Filtered water and clean &quot;bagged&quot; ice is the most important. Nothing is worse than funky tasting iced coffee because of poor quality water and/or ice.
Just as important is a high quality coffee, though this part is really subjective, as your taste for a particular blend/roast/bean is different from me. I&#039;d suggest a mocha java coffee bean, or a Guatamalean or a Yemeni or Sumatran. Though you can also use the Arabica coffee at Walmart to make a decent iced coffee. 
Definitely use 1 and half times the normal amount for iced coffee. I like to make super big gulp sized iced coffee, though the whole cup is filled with ice and this turn out to be about 16 oz of coffee.
So I&#039;d make a full pot of coffee (12 cups) using about 10 tablespoons of coffee.
The half n half really makes the iced coffee. I&#039;ve tried lowfat milk, whole milk, soy milk, non dairy creamer but half n half really makes the drink. The trick is to watch the color, just add enough to lighten up to a golden brown/tan color then adjust to taste. Too much and that&#039;s all you taste, too little and the strong coffee overpowers the whole drink.
Sweetner/sugar/simple syrup this is a to taste scenario. I average about 3-5 tablespoons of sugar. Now I mix this with my portioned out hot coffee, just before I pour it over the ice.
