How To Make Vegan Coffee Drinks?

September 23rd, 2009 by Rexx

Any ideas on how to make tasty vegan coffee drinks? I like the silk brand mochas and I see that they also have creamers. Any good recipes or methods? I usually like lattes, iced and warm.

It would be easiest if you had a nice coffee machine, the kind that can steam milk and add it to coffee like Starbucks does. They’re usually worth the price if you even get two lattes a week at Starbucks because it adds up to hundreds of dollars in just the course of a year. If you get the right coffee machine (my friend has one) you just add soy milk and it steams and froths it a little and you blend it with coffee per the machine’s instructions and even add flavored syrup, and voila, it’s a perfect latte. I still haven’t motivated myself to break the bank to buy one of those machines but it might be worth it to you if you want a really good latte that you can make yourself.

    1. Good quality Coffee (hopefully organic fair trade)
    2. Soy silk creamer or chocolate, almond, soy, oat, or hemp, milk.
    3. Ice or froth with appropriate machine (bought one for around five bucks at thrift store).
    4. Enjoy : )

Substitute Soy Silk Vanilla for regular milk. They also make a Soy Silk Chai. They had Soy Silk Pumpkin Spice Latte & Eggnog Latte flavors during the holidays.

I like to use almond milk for hot drinks –everything from coffee to tea to hot cocoa. Here is a link to an almond milk recipe:http://www.elanaspantry.com/2007/09/30/g…
You can also use cashews in place of the almonds in this recipe and the milk is even richer and more delicious.
    I hope this helps!
