I know you mentioned bags, but the best cold tea I've had comes from brewing loose leaf herbal teas or black teas normally in a large iced teapot (which you can find at any tea shop) and then letting it sit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. The flavor tends to be stronger than when you pour over ice- even if you double the amount of tea. Some herbals are sweet enough on their own, but you can try rock sugar or honey with black teas. Also, I would add any milk or cream as you serve each glass, that way you don't waste any of it.

Get a quart pitcher, put in about one cup hot water, stir in any type of sweetener, fill pitcher with more hot water, put in 4 tea bags and put in refrigerator, when the tea is cold, it's ready.

I think it is hard to beat a good batch of sun tea sweetened to taste with honey and a bit of fresh lemon juice.

simple iced tea-
clean a 2 liter plastic pitcher
steep 8 teabags in 1 liter water for 4 minutes
squeeze out teabags and add 1 liter cool water to pitcher
(do not add ice or your tea will look cloudy)
place in refrigerator for at least a half hour, then serve over ice.
simple syrup-
add 6 teaspoons sugar to 1 cup boiling water and stir
refrigerate and add this 'simple syrup' to your iced tea later, with no need to stir
recipes-
4 black teabags (Lipton)+ 4 berry teabags (Celestial Seasoning)= BerryBlack Tea
6 Orange Teabags (Tazo)+2 green teabags (Lipton)= Sweet green Orange Tea
Iced Earl Grey tea has a light spicy flavor and goes well with lemon
Red Tea goes well with citrus
green tea goes well with citrus, mint, and ginger
white tea goes well with peach and berry
black tea goes well with lemon or honey, even vanilla
