You’ve got to figure out what wasn’t right so you know what to fix. Try a second batch, the first one may taste funny because the equipment hadn’t been used yet. Machines do that sometimes.
To make a really nice iced tea, use 3 regular bags and one flavored one — or two of each, if you prefer. Brew it a bit stronger than you’d like, then dilute it with ice. If the ice doesn’t melt fast enough to dilute your tea, dilute it with a little cold water, too. Peach makes a good flavored iced tea, as does black cherry. If you like spices, try Good Earth Original. That stuff is lovely.
Personally, my favorite black tea — hot or iced — is Assam or Ceylon. These are much smoother than the pekoe that is commonly found in teabags in the US. You can make Ceylon or Assam as dark as you like and they never turn bitter. This may be the reason many of the flavored black teas are made with Ceylon tea instead of pekoe.

I usually put 4 family-sized tea bags in the carafe itself and let the tea steep for about 5 minutes before removing the bags. Then I dilute it in a pitcher with ice-water = to the contents of the brewed tea. I add a bit of lemon to taste. Tea`s on. -S
