Yes. Marscapone is just a bit lighter, but Cream Cheese will work. Iv’e tried that before. And for the coffee it causes no problem.

I’m all for changing recipes. My family likes tiramisu so much it started getting real expensive. To cut costs I used Quark and although there is a little difference nobody has refused to eat it and it has become a firm favourite with the ones who had never had the real thing.

I think your substitutions should be fine. I found a tiramisu inspired recipe using cream cheese and brewed coffee at http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/tir… if you’d like to try it. Best of luck!

Both changes should work ok. Just make sure you taste it as you go along. Philadelphia might need a little extra sugar. Also, you need to make sure the coffee is made pretty strong, or the flavour might not be quite so good.

coffee you can use any type but if you
want the real tiramisu taste you have to use mascarpone cheese, otherwise it you want a light tiramisu try using ricotta cheeese (cottage cheese)

Philadephia cheese is heavier than mascarpone. Do not change the original ingredients as it is an italian dessert. Be original. And don’t mess about with italian food!

I would not switch around the cheese, but the coffee would be ok
