Hmmm,...never really thought about adding chocolate chips to banana bread. Walnuts, yes. Well, why don't you just try letting the dough set for a few minutes, then dash the chips in, stirring them up,..the same as I add walnut chips? Put the oven heat a little higher than the recipe says, but leave it a shorter length of time. This should stop the "sinkage". Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

You just add the chocolate chips to the batter and give it a stir, spray your pan with Pam and you wont need to worry about anything1

Make the banana bread recipe just as it says, but before you add it to the pan stir in the chocolate chips. They won't sink, and will be spread throughout the bread when it is done. I suggest using miniature chocolate chips for this recipe. I make this all the time and it comes out just fine.

You can dust the chips with some of the dry ingredients if you are really worried about them sinking, but I have added them at the end before and the banana bread came out fine, with chips throughout and not all at the bottom.
