I don’t know that Moolate, but iced coffee is easy. Fill a glass with ice, and prepare a cup of strong coffee; add sweetening to the coffee to taste, pour coffee over the ice, and add milk or cream to taste.
As for coffee cake–well, there are lots and lots of different types. If I were making one right now, I think I’d mix a batter–let’s see:
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup oil (I prefer corn oil for baking)
1 cup milk
mix dry ingredients and then mix wet ingredients; blend wet into dry to make a uniform batter. Press batter into a nonstick or a lubricated 9X9 pan.
Top batter with sliced fruit of your choice: apples, peaches, nectarines, apricots. Or use berries.
Then add a sweet crumb topping:
1/4 stick butter, softened
1/4 cup flour (whole wheat works nicely)
1/4 cup brown sugar
Mix sugar and flour, then cut into the butter using a pastry cutter or two table knives, until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit.
Bake coffee cake at 325 for about 45 minutes.
