February 11th, 2010 by Rexx

Okay… I know basically everyone says there’s coffee in it but I know for a fact that that is not true. If anyone who has worked there in the past could please give me the recipe it would be much appreciated.

Its just a half glass of nonfat milk. 3 spoon fulls of Chocolate syrup and 3 spoon fulls of chocolate chips. And don’t forget to add a little vanilla and ice and then blend

  2. thespoon… Says:

1 (5/8 ounce) hot chocolate mix
    4 ounces warm water
    1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
    2 ounces milk
    1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
    2 tbs sugar
    1 tablespoon mini chocolate chip
    7-8 ice cube
    Reddi-Wip topping
    Disolve cocoa in warm water.
Place disolved cocoa, chocolate syrup, sugar, chips, milk and ice in a blender. Blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds. Pour into an attractive cup and top with a little Reddi-Wip. Enjoy!

the dccf (double choc chip frappuccino) starts with a cream base (so you’re correct in that there is no coffee in it), followed by pumps of mocha syrup and scoops of chocolate chips. add ice and blend!
the cream base itself is made from nonfat milk and packets of a powder that starbucks sends us (i’ve never really taken the time to read all the ingredients, but it’s basically a sweetened dairy powder).
i think what the people you’ve talked to are thinking of is the dccf’s sister beverage, the java chip frappuccino, in which the cream base is replaced with the coffee base.
    hope this answered your question!
