How Do You Remove Clove Resin From A Plastic Appliance?

February 11th, 2010 by Rexx

I needed ground cloves for a pumpkin pie recipe and the store didn’t have it, so I already had whole cloves. I thought that if I ground them up in my coffee grinder real fine that would do the trick. It worked great for the recipe, but it left a resin inside my coffee grinder lid. It doesn’t come off when soaked in hot, soapy water. Does anyone know how to remove it without using turpentine or some other toxic chemical?

Want To Make Banana Bread From Betty Crocker Cook Book. How Could I Add Chocolate Chips And Have It Come Out.

February 5th, 2010 by Rexx

Starbucks has a chocolate chip banana coffee cake that is great! I would like to make something similar at home. When or how would I add chocolate chips to the banana bread and not have them sink to the bottom, or add them on top? If you have good recipes for it that would be good too.

What Foods Comes From Mixed Cultures?

January 24th, 2010 by Rexx

`Cause I know it isn’t always the case of that Food A comes from Culture A, Food B comes from Culture B, and etc.
For instance, and this is the only one that I know, is how if you want a good cup of French coffee, go to a Vietnamese coffee house.
Are they any others? Family recipes, perhaps?

January 20th, 2010 by Rexx

Hi,
I would love a starbucks recipe “clone” I love the java chip and the pumpkin spice frappaccino. I also love the peppermint mocha. But I have realized over trial and error that peppermint oil and melted candycanes don’t give quite the same flavor. Any advice? Also the recipe for their scones and cupcakes and thier polar bear cookies would be awesome, (I really want to know what kind of icing the use, I attacvhed a pic of one. Maybe a n experienced baker will know what kind of icing it is.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3021/3103… <—- that is the cookies picture
Thanks everyone!

I’m Looking For A Recipe From Barefoot Contessa?

January 7th, 2010 by Rexx

It was on an episode and I can’t find it on the food network site. They were these delicious chocolate brownies. They were very chocolatey and they tasted almost like they had coffee in them, but the recipe did not call for any coffee. The brownies were also meant to be cut into large pieces. Something like 4 inches by 2 inches. I lost this recipe and I loved these brownies. Any help?
