What Can I Drink Or Take To Replace Coffee If I Have Gerd? Also Other Meals To Make For Dinner?

February 17th, 2010 by Rexx

I have suffered with this disorder for years and its gotten worse. Since I live with stress and depression, I am always sleepy during morning hours and after meals. I love coffee but its become unbearable. I get so much acid that I feel that I need to change my eating and drinking habits. I am tired of making my favorite meals as well but suffering. Mostly stuff like Spagetti and meatballs, tacos, Mexican rice, BBQ, Potato salad, and the list goes on and on but it seems that everything gives me acid and gas. Will changing my diet help, I do need to lose at least 20 lbs. I need alternatives to caffeine to get energy and new recipes my family will enjoy as well. Thanks.

Does Anyone Have A Recipe For Mexican Mocha Ball Cookies?

February 10th, 2010 by Rexx

I cut out a recipe years ago from the newspaper for this recipe but I’ve seem to have misplaced it. I know the cookies had coffee, chocolate and walnuts in them and after they were baked they were dipped in powdered sugar. Definately the best cookies I ever had!!

Does Anyone Have A Good Recipe For A Drink Made With Honey Pepper Vodka?

January 28th, 2010 by Rexx

I bought a bottle of Mernaya Honey and Pepper vodka tonight because it looked interesting. Well, it’s not terrible, but it’s not a sipper. It isn’t very sweet or very spicy and the vodka has a strong flavor to it. I’m trying to find a recipe that will compliment the flavors. I tried mixing it with some homemade coffee liqueur and that was pretty tasty but I don’t want the caffiene in the liqueur to keep me up all night. Any ideas?

What’s The Best Topping For A New York Cheesecake That I Can Make Out Of The Ingredients Which I Have?

January 23rd, 2010 by Rexx

I have chocolate syrup/ganache texture, walnuts and pecans, caramelized apples (which taste more bitter and wine-like than sweet), blueberries, bananas, and instant coffee. Out of these ingredients, what are some recipes for a suitable topping for a New York cheesecake (which I just finished baking)?

Does It Have To Be Good Vodka?

January 22nd, 2010 by Rexx

I am thinking about making a batch of homemade coffee liquor (kaluah). All the recipes require vodka to be the main alcohol ingredient, but I’m wondering since it’s going to be flavored with coffee and vanilla and such does it neccesarily have to be top shelf stuff? I was going to make a lot of it, so it wouldn’t be very “cost effective” if I were to buy two handles of Grey Goose or something when Smirnoff would work just as well.
Will it change the flavor of my homemade kaluah if I use cheaper stuff?

Why Do You Have To Boil Homemade Kahlua So Long?

January 21st, 2010 by Rexx

I just finnished making my first batch of homemade Kahlua, and my recipe said to boil the coffee, sugar and water and let it simmer for 2 hours. It got syrupy, but them at the end the recipe said to add more water.
Why do you have to boil it down, then add more water? I was just wondering if it would work the same to boil it about 30 minutes to dissolve the sugar?
