I Want To Make A Really Good Iced Tea…?

February 9th, 2010 by Rexx

I don’t have any flavor oils or anything like that, but I want some good recipes using tea bags and unique sweetners. Please and thanks.
Also, is there a way to make a frozen tea, kind of like frozen coffee and hot chocolate?

What Is The Exact Recipe Of Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee?

January 27th, 2010 by Rexx

Hello everyone!
I have been attempting to make Iced Coffee at home that tastes exactly like Dunkin Donuts because I have moved from Boston to Utah and there are 0 DD within 500 miles and I am addicted to their iced coffee.
I am hoping I can get the exact technique from someone who works there that would be killer!
I would buy their brand of coffee beans from the store because that seems to be a necessary part of their flavor. right?
From what I gather the coffee is double brewed then an equal amount of ice is added right after brewing. But I get lost when it comes to how they do the sugars/syrups/creams.
Is there a specific brand of cream/sugar/syrup that they use? is it already pre-made? I think they use “Raw” or “whole” (chunky) sugar because there are some sweet chunky pieces when you drink it but I am not sure. So does anyone know the exact sugar/cream/syrup they use and the exact ratio that is added when someone orders a regular iced coffee as it comes without any extra/less added?
Extra points on this one!

What Is A Recipe Of Some Good Iced Coffee?

January 4th, 2010 by Rexx

Cinnamon Caramel Iced Coffee
Add the cinnamon before brewing to give this recipe spicy touch. You’ll need to stir well to blend in the caramel syrup.
Ingredients:
6 tbs ground coffee
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup caramel dessert syrup
Preparation:
Mix the cinnamon into your loose ground coffee and then brew a pot of coffee by whatever method you prefer. Add the caramel syrup to the cinnamon-spiced coffee, and stir well until completely dissolved. Chill through in the fridge, and serve over ice cubes, with added milk or sugar to taste. The syrup makes this iced coffee pretty sweet as it is.
Expresso CHILL
An easy iced coffee drink, that doesn’t require an espresso machine. You can make this drink in seconds. Who wants to wait on a hot summer day?
Ingredients:
2 tbs instant coffee
3/4 cup cold water
1 cup ice cubes
2 tbs sugar
Preparation:
Combine everything in a blender, and blend until smooth.
Iced Rasberry Chocolate Cappucino
A light iced cappuccino with a chocolate and bright raspberry taste. Ok, it’s not a true cappuccino, but you could also make this recipe with espresso if you preferred.
Ingredients:
1/2 oz chocolate syrup
1/2 oz raspberry syrup
1/2 cup strong coffee, chilled
1 cup milk
Preparation:
Pour the chocolate and raspberry syrups into the coffee and stir well, to dissolve the syrups. Mix in milk. Pour over ice cubes and serve.
If you find that the syrups don’t blend in the cold coffee, try using hot coffee to start and then chill after mixing.
If you want more, look at the link below. These were some that I have tried before and loved.

There are almost as many ways of making Thai tea as there are Thai restaurants. I love the richness the cardomom, cloves and cinnamon add. You can also skip the sugar and use sweetened condensed milk in place of the half-and-half. No other tea will substitute for Thai tea–you can find Thai tea in Asian markets, or if you are really lucky, in the Asian section of your grocery store. Prep time does not include chill time.

Wow, thanks for this exotic and refreshing recipe. The Thai tea leaves were so hard to find. Our Chinatown in Montreal only had one shop that carried them (to my surprise and delight it was the green tea variety) and they told me to put it through a coffee maker to filter it. Well, I did and it worked out great as soon as I got my measurements correct. So I made basic Thai Tea without the cinnamon, cardamom and clove- two rounded teaspoons of tea for every cup of water in the coffee maker. Then I added two teaspoons of sugar for every cup of tea, sweet enough for my taste, and chilled it. When it was time to serve-poured it over some ice and half ‘n half to top it off. Next time though I’m going to try to top it off with the sweet condensed milk as “shimmerchk” suggested.

Just a little note, intead of adding sugar and half and half, a lot of Thai cooks (including my mom) just top this with sweetened condensed milk. I don’t add cinnamon to my recipe, but otherwise it is the same as this one and is really DELICIOUS!

Wonderful! This exactly the same tea I have been served in Thai recipes and have tried to duplicate for some time. Really delicious and unique. The color is gorgeous – the orangey color of the tea topped with the creamy half n half makes a striking presentation in a clear glass. Note: Only Thai tea leaves will produce the unique color and taste. I found mine in an Asian market in a giant bag, but have also seen them for sale in online asian markets.
